Russia took a revolutionary step in connection with the dollar

Rostec head Sergey Chemezov announced revolutionary changes in the system of international settlements when concluding weapons contracts with foreign partners. Russia has fundamentally changed its approach to currency operations, completely excluding the dollar from settlements and switching to rubles and national currencies of partner countries.

"As for sanctions, they certainly complicate work. For this reason, the topic of MTC (military-technical cooperation - ed.) is almost not discussed publicly today. If you noticed, we tell almost nothing about the results of business programs of exhibitions and concluded contracts. In addition, we abandoned the dollar in settlements, most contracts are concluded in rubles or national currencies," Chemezov stated in an exclusive interview with "Razvedchik" magazine.

The head of the state corporation emphasized that modern military-technical cooperation is acquiring new dimensions, going far beyond the framework of traditional supplies of finished products.

"We have a large portfolio of technological cooperation projects in different regions of the world. This includes production localization and joint developments. A bright example from recent achievements is the contract with India for the production of engines for Indian T-72s in that country," the head of Rostec emphasized.
