Paraguay recognized the IRGC as a terrorist organization

Paraguay has officially recognized the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization.

As Report informs, the President of Paraguay Santiago Peña signed the corresponding decree.

"These measures are a response to systematic violations of peace, human rights, and the security of the international community," the Paraguayan leader stated in his social media message.

The official statement published by the head of state also notes that Paraguay "confirms its firm and unwavering position in the fight against terrorism, which is one of the harmful threats."

In addition, Peña signed decrees recognizing Hamas and Hezbollah movements as terrorist organizations. Despite the fact that Paraguay had previously declared the armed formations of both entities as terrorist, "their repeated public statements, which do not distinguish between their armed, political or social components," served as the basis for extending the status of a terrorist organization to all their structures.

The document specifically emphasizes that with these decisive actions, Paraguay strengthens its strategic alliances in the fight against terrorism with partner countries such as the USA and Israel. President Peña expressed his firm determination to eradicate this "evil that recognizes no borders or flags."
