Fiery awakening: Kilauea volcano in Hawaii again demonstrates the power of the elements. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) records impressive lava fountains soaring to heights of 50 to 100 meters, reports mk.ru.
At the moment, hot lava from two active vents has already filled approximately 5% of the crater. Specialists emphasize that since December 2024, significant fluctuations have been observed in the duration of eruptions - from brief episodes lasting only 13 hours to continuous fiery displays lasting up to 8 days.
Kilauea majestically rises on the Big Island of the Hawaiian archipelago and is recognized as the youngest and most tireless volcano in this region. Reaching a height of 1,250 meters, this natural giant has practically not ceased its activity since 1983.
The current eruption is occurring in an area closed to visitors, however, those who wish can safely observe this fascinating natural phenomenon from specially equipped viewing platforms in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
