Tragic record: more than 300 UN employees killed during Israel's military operation in Gaza
As reported by TUT.AZ, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk revealed shocking statistics of casualties among the international organization's personnel.
"According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, since October 7, more than 200,000 Palestinians have been killed or injured, which is about 10% of the country's entire population. Also, more than 300 of our colleagues have died as a result of Israel's military actions," he stated.
According to the High Commissioner, since May, more than a thousand people trying to obtain food have been killed, and distribution centers are completely unable to deliver humanitarian aid in the necessary volumes.
On Wednesday, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus reported that the World Health Organization is observing a sharp increase in malnutrition-related deaths in the Gaza Strip - in 2025, the organization documented 21 cases of deaths of children under five years old for this reason in Gaza. The WHO head added that acute malnutrition in the Gaza Strip affects more than 10% of the population, and more than 20% of pregnant and nursing women who have been examined suffer from malnutrition, often in severe form.
