Media: Alla Pugacheva renounces Russian citizenship

Information has emerged about Alla Pugacheva's possible renunciation of Russian citizenship

As reported by TUT.AZ with reference to Russian Telegram channels, Alla Pugacheva allegedly submitted documents to renounce her Russian citizenship at the Russian embassy in Israel. According to sources, the procedure took place under heightened secrecy - the artist arrived through a separate entrance, and the process itself occurred without the presence of outsiders. The review of such applications usually takes several months, although in some cases a decision can be made more quickly.

Sources link this step to possible criminal prosecution of the singer in Russia. It's worth remembering that in 2022, the Prima Donna received Israeli citizenship and publicly spoke out against military actions in Ukraine.

However, not everyone believes in the accuracy of this information. Vitaly Borodin, who heads the Federal Project for Security and Fight Against Corruption (FPBK), expressed doubt about the truthfulness of the information in a conversation with the "Strasti" portal. In his opinion, Pugacheva is unlikely to give up her Russian passport until the Ukrainian conflict is resolved, since, like many other artists who have left, she is counting on returning to Russia.

Borodin recommended waiting for official comments and suggested that such news might be deliberately spread to improve the singer's image, allowing her to subsequently use the situation to her advantage and present herself in a patriotic light.
