Iran tightens conditions for Azerbaijani carriers amid diplomatic conflict

This is reported by TUT.AZ with reference to the Telegram channel "Free Iran".

According to the source, after the signing of the trilateral declaration between Azerbaijan, Armenia and the United States, Iranian authorities began creating unbearable conditions for truck drivers traveling from Nakhchivan to Baku. Carriers are forced to spend a day in a desert area without access to basic amenities before being allowed to continue their journey.

"There is no food or water here. To buy something, you need to walk for kilometers. There isn't even a toilet. We are treated like animals," said one of the drivers. They also noted that Iranian officials tell them: "If you don't like it - use the 'Trump Route'."

Recall that the declaration signed on August 8 provides for the creation of the "Trump Route" between the main part of Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan. This road is expected to be under US control. Tehran has taken a tough stance against this initiative.
