Powerful underground tremors with a magnitude of 4.5 shook the western regions of Turkey. The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) promptly reported the earthquake through its official page on the social network X.
The natural disaster struck the region today during daytime hours - precisely at 13:15 local time (14:15 Baku time). The epicenter of nature's destructive force was localized in the immediate vicinity of the city of Simav, located in Kütahya province. According to seismological services data, the earthquake's focus was at a considerable depth - more than 7 kilometers underground.
At this time, no information about possible building damage or casualties among the population has been received by the authorities.
