Google tightens remote work policy: employees instructed to return to offices
Google management has issued a requirement for some remote employees to return to an office work format.
According to TUT.AZ, citing CNBC channel, which gained access to an internal company document, several divisions of the tech giant have already notified remote employees about possible consequences of failing to meet this requirement, up to termination. Some specialists have also been offered to consider switching to a hybrid work format.
According to CNBC, after the end of the coronavirus pandemic, more and more companies are beginning to limit remote work opportunities. The channel's experts link this trend to businesses' desire to optimize expenses. In Google's case, as with other tech giants, this may be due to the need to redirect financial resources to expensive artificial intelligence projects.
