ALARMING SIGNAL: MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS REVEAL DEADLY DANGER OF AIR TRAVEL FOR PEOPLE WITH CHRONIC DISEASES
Leading international medical experts are sounding the alarm: air travel creates extreme stress on the body, which can pose a serious threat to passengers with certain diseases. Shocking data was shared by Dr. Ekaterina Kashukh, an expert from the well-known laboratory "Gemotest," in an exclusive interview for RT.
According to the specialist, patients with severe acute otitis are categorically not recommended to fly. Sharp pressure changes during ascent or descent of the aircraft can provoke rupture of the eardrum and hemorrhage into the ear cavity.
Air travel poses a particular danger for passengers with decompensated cardiovascular diseases. The medical expert emphasizes that severe hypertensive disease during flight significantly increases the probability of a hypertensive crisis, and in some cases can lead to stroke or heart attack.
Kashukh specifically noted temporary restrictions for patients who have experienced serious cardiovascular events. Air travel is strictly prohibited for three to four weeks after myocardial infarction and for two months after ischemic stroke.
Absolute contraindications for air travel also include pneumothorax, certain postoperative conditions, and injuries.
