Divers found the wreckage of a ship with a treasure trove: it sank 350 years ago

Wreckage of a mysteriously sunken 18th century British ship with treasures on board discovered off the coast of Ireland

As reported by TUT.AZ with reference to Daily Express, divers made an amazing discovery - the wreckage of a British vessel that disappeared under mysterious circumstances in 1787. The ship, traveling from Italy to Ireland 350 years ago, was carrying valuable cargo - expensive marble and bronze items belonging to the famous Irish banker John La Touche. There were six people on board, including the captain and his two sons.

The vessel met a tragic fate under very mysterious circumstances. None of the crew members survived to tell what happened, and the mystery of the shipwreck was buried in the depths of the sea along with the valuable cargo for many years.

An expedition led by Edmond O'Byrne, a recognized specialist in searching for sunken ships, discovered the remains of the ship off the Irish coast at a depth of about 20 meters. During the initial survey, divers found well-preserved artifacts from past eras, including a copper kettle and ancient inkwells.

Currently, the sunken vessel is being prepared for detailed study by experts. O'Byrne expresses confidence that the inkwells found are just the beginning of amazing discoveries. In his opinion, other valuables may have been preserved on the ship, despite the long stay underwater. In addition, a thorough investigation will finally help uncover the mystery of the ship's demise and its crew, which has remained unsolved for more than three centuries.
