Auto Shanghai 2025: five future technologies that will change the automotive industry

At the Shanghai Auto Show 2025, about 1,500 companies presented innovative cars and technologies of the future

As reported by TUT.AZ, autoTUT.AZ selected the most impressive new products at the exhibition.

The International Auto Shanghai exhibition is considered one of the most important events in the global automotive industry. It not only showcases promising models but also sets the direction for the entire industry's development in the coming years. We present to your attention the most striking innovations of the auto show.

1. DeepSeek in automobiles

The era of artificial intelligence in automotive manufacturing is advancing rapidly. Auto Shanghai 2025 was literally flooded with vehicles featuring the Chinese equivalent of Chat GPT - the DeepSeek system.

BMW Group officially confirmed the implementation of this technology in all their new models for the Chinese market in the second half of 2025. This was personally announced by the head of the German auto giant, Oliver Zipse, during a presentation at the exhibition.

The DeepSeek technology is also being actively implemented by other well-known brands - Hongqi, Nissan, and Honda, showcasing their vehicles with neural network technology support.

The widespread application of neural networks marks a new era in the automotive industry. DeepSeek goes far beyond an ordinary voice assistant, being responsible for a whole complex of intelligent functions: from controlling onboard systems and route planning to personalizing the interface for a specific user. The system is capable of self-learning through cloud services, monitoring safety, and supporting semi-autonomous driving.

Geely has gone even further, developing its own AI system Xingrui based on DeepSeek, which partially takes on autonomous driving functions.

2. Sonar on cars

Geely Galaxy Battleship

The real sensation of Auto Shanghai 2025 was the Geely Galaxy Battleship SUV. In addition to impressive capabilities like "tank" turns, "crab" movement, and maneuvering in place, this vehicle is capable of moving on water.

Artificial intelligence controls the "smart" all-wheel drive, providing maximum comfort when driving off-road. The model is literally packed with innovations: from a "digital chassis" to the super-reliable Golden Short Blade battery. The hybrid powertrain adapts to various driving conditions, including the type of surface. According to the manufacturer, the SUV passes the "moose test" at speeds up to 80 km/h.

The Galaxy Battleship easily overcomes fords up to 80 cm deep, but its main feature is the ability to stay afloat for up to two hours and develop speeds of up to five knots (9.26 km/h). For the first time in automotive history, a car is equipped with a sonar, and
