US President Donald Trump made a bold statement on Wednesday, indicating that Russia, in his opinion, demonstrates greater readiness for a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, while reaching agreements with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky proves to be a significantly more difficult task.
The American leader said this during a conversation with press representatives in the Oval Office of the White House, reports TUT.AZ.
Trump made it clear that the negotiation process with the Russian side is progressing more easily than with the Ukrainian side. "I think Russia is ready, and many have said that Russia is ready to go all in. And I think we have reached an agreement with Russia. We need to come to an agreement with Zelensky," emphasized the US President.
He also admitted that he initially expected an easier dialogue with Volodymyr Zelensky. "So far it's more difficult... But I think we are dealing with both sides. I hope they do it because I want to save the situation, and, as you know, we have spent a lot of money, but it's about the fate of many people," Trump added.
The American leader specifically noted that he does not favor either Ukraine or Russia in this conflict. His main priority is the earliest possible end to military actions.
