Medical professionals revealed the secret of effective walking: not the duration, but the pace matters
According to TUT.AZ, general practitioner Hussein Ahmad shared with HuffPost the key condition that transforms an ordinary walk into beneficial physical activity.
According to the expert's recommendations, the optimal regimen for obtaining health benefits is walking for 30 minutes five times a week. Ahmad emphasizes that even prolonged walks may not be beneficial if you move too slowly. "Ideally, the pace should be fast enough for the body to warm up and breathing to become heavier, but still allowing you to maintain a conversation," the doctor explained.
The long-term benefits of brisk walking are particularly impressive: studies show a reduction in the risk of premature death by as much as 20 percent. An encouraging fact is that even shortened active walks of 11 minutes can provide a noticeable positive effect on health.
