The cause of sudden cardiac arrest in young people has been revealed

Sudden cardiac arrest causes one in four deaths among young people - shocking data revealed by cardiologist Evgenia Bogaevskaya in an interview with "Evening Moscow".

This alarming statistic was presented at a recent scientific congress of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC). Young men around 23 years of age are at the highest risk. A frightening fact is that most victims did not notice any warning signs of the impending tragedy. Only a third of those affected had previously consulted doctors with symptoms such as seizures, fainting, rapid heartbeat, nausea, or signs of infectious diseases.

Bogaevskaya noted that identifying the exact cause of sudden cardiac arrest presents a serious diagnostic challenge. Among the key risk factors, the specialist highlighted genetic predisposition, chronic diseases, harmful habits, and excess body weight.

The cardiologist particularly emphasized the vulnerability of professional athletes. Regular intensive training can contribute to the development of hidden pathologies of the cardiovascular system, which are discovered only after a tragic outcome.

To reduce the risk of sudden cardiac arrest, Bogaevskaya urges people to maintain a healthy lifestyle, reasonably dose physical activity, and not neglect preventive medical examinations.
