Shocking discovery: vapes turned out to be thousands of times dirtier than toilets – new microbiologists' research

As reported by TUT.AZ with reference to Daily Mail, specialists from BioLabTests laboratory revealed an alarming fact: electronic cigarettes contain three thousand times more bacteria than toilet seats. Researchers found that in just three days of use, the concentration of fungi and bacteria in the device increases a thousand times. Meanwhile, microbial contamination affects not only the mouthpiece but the entire body of the electronic cigarette. Scientists explain such rapid multiplication of microorganisms by the ideal conditions inside the vape: the warm and humid environment in the mouthpiece becomes a real paradise for pathogenic microbes.

The study showed that stable biofilms form on the surfaces of electronic cigarettes, which are difficult to clean using conventional methods. Most of the microorganisms detected are typical of human skin and the environment, making them constant companions of vape users.

Specialists strongly recommend that electronic cigarette users not neglect regular cleaning of their devices, applying the same hygiene measures as for smartphones, which are also known as carriers of a significant number of microorganisms.
