Science confirms: the aging process begins at the cellular level at age 25. This information was provided by the Associate Professor of the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases at Sklifosovsky Institute of Clinical Medicine of Sechenov University, Svetlana Rykova, reports TUT.AZ with reference to RIA Novosti.

The expert notes that it is precisely from the 25-year threshold that the body lays the foundation for the development of chronic non-infectious diseases. These include serious conditions such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and obesity, which usually become apparent after a person reaches the age of 40.

Rykova emphasizes that the development of these diseases is determined not only by genetic predispositions but also by daily habits. Among the most important preventive measures, the specialist mentions systematic physical activity, proper alternation of work and rest, balanced nutrition, and observance of "sleep hygiene."

Earlier, on October 12, researchers from Germany presented data showing that before puberty, ribosomal DNA—a special section of the genome that ensures cell viability—functions intensively in the human body. However, with the transition to adulthood, its activity significantly decreases, triggering irreversible molecular mechanisms of aging.
