Nutritionist warns: up to 90% of products in stores may contribute to the development of dementia
According to nutritionist Anton Polyakov, the vast majority of products on store shelves – from 80 to 90 percent – are potentially dangerous for human health and may lead to the development of dementia, reports aif.ru.
The specialist emphasized that the greatest threat comes from products with high content of fructose, sucrose, trans fats and numerous food additives. Almost the entire range of sweets falls into the risk zone – cookies, cakes, pastries and most ice cream. Polyakov explained that hydrogenated trans fats contained in these products are incorporated into cell membranes and disrupt their normal interaction with signaling molecules.
The nutritionist also cautioned against excessive consumption of products rich in Omega-6 and saturated animal fats, which create an excessive burden on the body. He paid special attention to artificial additives that can provoke inflammatory processes, allergic reactions and vascular damage.
In conclusion, Polyakov noted that one of the most direct paths to developing dementia is the regular consumption of industrially produced food, including fast food.
