Endocrinologist reveals four key signs of rare "type 1.5" diabetes in adults

As reported by TUT.AZ, medical sciences candidate Natalia Tananakina in an interview with "Lenta.ru" shared important information about latent autoimmune diabetes in adults (LADA-diabetes) and its characteristic manifestations.

According to the specialist, LADA-diabetes is often called "type 1.5" because it combines features of both main types of the disease. "The disease can be suspected based on signs such as quick fatigue, increased thirst, frequent urination, and slight weight loss. In the early stage, glucose levels often remain under control, which masks the development of the pathology. But over time, this indicator becomes unstable," noted Tananakina.

She warned that without proper medical supervision, this insidious disease can lead to serious complications - diabetic retinopathy and nephropathy, cardiovascular disorders, and damage to the nervous system.
