Cardiologist warns: heart attack can occur suddenly, without any signals
Cardiologist, anesthesiologist-resuscitator Anton Vakhlyaev in a conversation with RIA Novosti made a disturbing statement: myocardial infarction can develop rapidly, without giving preliminary signals to the body. However, in some cases, it is still possible to recognize the approaching threat.
According to the specialist, the classic harbinger of an impending heart attack is angina, also known as "chest tightness," manifested by pain behind the sternum during physical exertion. "Gradually physical activity decreases, and the pain becomes more frequent, pain attacks last longer - this is the classic picture of coronary heart disease," explained Vakhlyaev.
The doctor identified obesity and high blood pressure as the main risk factors for the development of cardiovascular diseases, including heart attacks and strokes.
Vakhlyaev noted a paradoxical situation: thanks to the achievements of modern medicine, people have stopped taking the threat of heart attack seriously. Meanwhile, cardiovascular diseases continue to lead among the causes of natural death in the working-age population, even surpassing oncological diseases.
