# Can Cancer Be Beaten: An Oncologists Answer

Humanity will most likely never be able to completely defeat cancer — however, drastically reducing mortality from oncological diseases is entirely realistic. Personalized vaccines could be the key to achieving this. This statement was made by oncologist Anton Saad.

As reported by TUT.AZ with reference to RIA Novosti, the specialist emphasized that counting on the complete eradication of cancer in the foreseeable future is not realistic. Oncology is not a single disease but an entire group of diseases with fundamentally different genetic natures. This is precisely why creating a universal cure remains a virtually unachievable task.

Even the rapid development of medical technologies and the emergence of breakthrough vaccines do not guarantee an absolute victory over cancer, the expert noted. Nevertheless, foreign colleagues point to an encouraging trend: modern medicine is moving with increasing confidence toward turning many forms of cancer into chronic but manageable conditions — ones that patients can live with for many years.

Saad also addressed the progress in the development of personalized mRNA vaccines. Clinical data accumulated so far confirm their effectiveness, and in the future, such drugs could become part of the standard arsenal of anti-tumor therapy — on par with surgery and immunotherapy.
