Zelensky appealed to Trump with a request to influence Hungary on the issue of Ukraine's European integration
"RBC-Ukraine" reports that during his visit to the White House, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky asked US leader Donald Trump to influence Hungary so that it would not obstruct Ukraine's accession to the European Union. According to the publication, Trump promised that his team would address this issue.
"As far as I understand, appropriate signals from the White House will be sent to Budapest," the Ukrainian president commented.
Commenting on the possibility of using Budapest as a platform for peace negotiations, Zelensky expressed a restrained position, calling such an option "not easy." "To be honest, Budapest has not supported us. I'm not saying that [Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor] Orban's policy was against Ukraine. But it was against supporting Ukraine," emphasized the head of the Ukrainian state.
