US Secretary of State Rubio and Advisor Waltz Advocate for Strikes on Iran's Nuclear Facilities

According to the reputable publication The Washington Post, citing informed sources, serious debates have erupted within the US presidential administration regarding future policy toward Iran.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz are actively promoting the idea of striking Iranian facilities where, in their opinion, nuclear weapons development may be taking place. At the same time, President Donald Trump currently leans toward continuing diplomatic engagement with Tehran, although the ultimate goals of this course and its timeframe remain undefined.

In opposition to the administration's "hawks," Vice President JD Vance and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard call for greater caution, fearing escalation of conflict in the Middle East. Several other advisors also insist on prioritizing diplomatic methods.

Proponents of a moderate approach emphasize that according to US intelligence assessments, Iran is not planning to create nuclear weapons, and a military operation against the country could provoke a full-scale regional conflict.

According to The Washington Post, similar discussions are taking place in Israel, where the feasibility of a preemptive strike on Iran's nuclear facilities and the effectiveness of such an operation for eliminating the country's nuclear program are being debated.

Sources from the publication claim that earlier, Israel's Minister for Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer tried to convince high-ranking US officials of the possibility of destroying Iran's underground nuclear facilities using US Air Force bunker-busting bombs. However, the American administration rejected this proposal.
