In his last performance on March 9 at UFC 313 in Las Vegas, Fiziev crossed gloves with former UFC interim lightweight champion Justin Gaethje. The intense confrontation lasted all three scheduled rounds, at the end of which the American won by unanimous decision of the judges.

Bahamondez approaches the fight on an impressive streak of three consecutive victories. The Chilean fighter has an impressive record of 22 mixed martial arts bouts, where he celebrated success 17 times and suffered only five defeats.
