Trump spoke with Zelensky before talking with Putin

US and Ukrainian Presidents Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky held an important phone conversation.

Ukrainian media report this with reference to the "United News" telethon.

Earlier, the American leader announced that he would contact Zelensky after talks with Putin.

According to TSN, obtained from sources, during the conversation Trump and Zelensky discussed possible steps to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. The TV channel also reports that the heads of state agreed to call again after Trump's conversation with the Russian president takes place.

White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt previously stated that Trump intends to personally inform the public about the results of telephone negotiations with the leaders of Russia and Ukraine. "You will hear from the president personally, or I will come out to you after these calls are finished," she noted during a briefing.
