Trump plans to deport hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians

The Trump administration is developing a large-scale plan to deport hundreds of thousands of migrants, including more than 200,000 Ukrainians on US territory. This information was published by The Washington Post newspaper, citing internal White House documents.

"According to the Trump administration's plans, up to 250 million euros originally intended for foreign aid will be redirected to fund the deportation and return of people from regions with active military conflicts, including about 700,000 Ukrainian and Haitian migrants," the publication states.

Citizens of Sudan, Afghanistan, Yemen, Libya, and several other countries are also at risk of deportation. According to The Washington Post, the proposed initiative may bypass the International Organization for Migration (IOM), which traditionally coordinates such procedures.

Previously, Trump had already included in the draft budget for the 2026 fiscal year a proposal to end funding for migrant and refugee resettlement programs.
