Trump: Ceasefire in Ukraine is not necessary to achieve a peace agreement

This is reported by Clash Report.

"I don't think we need a ceasefire. It would be good because people would stop dying, but right now we are working on a lasting peace," the US president said in his recent speech.

The American leader emphasized that other conflicts in which he was involved in resolving were resolved without first establishing a ceasefire regime.

"I don't think there will be a ceasefire. We can make an agreement aimed at peace while they are fighting. We will discuss security guarantees," Trump noted.

Addressing the issue of guarantees for Ukraine, the US president indicated that even before Vladimir Putin, it was obvious that Russia would never allow Ukraine into NATO: "So such a statement was made, but we haven't discussed anything yet. We will discuss it today. But we will provide them with very good protection, very good security. That's one of the components."

Trump also noted that he managed to end six wars, and he considered the conflict in Ukraine to be "the easiest," but in practice, the situation turned out to be much more complicated.

"You know, I like the concept of a ceasefire for one reason - because you stop killing people immediately, unlike two weeks, one week, or whatever. But we can make a deal where we will work on a peace agreement while they are fighting. I would like them to stop. But strategically, it may turn out to be disadvantageous for one side or the other. But I made all these deals even without mentioning the word 'ceasefire'," the American president concluded.
