The US State Department has appointed a new curator for European affairs

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio appointed a new head of the European direction of foreign policy - this position was taken by Brendan Hanrahan.

As reported by TUT.AZ, information about this personnel decision was published by Reuters agency, referring to an official document.

"He will be able to guide the bureau through the reorganization process and successfully advance the Secretary of State's agenda in Europe and beyond," the letter states.

Hanrahan replaces Louis Bono, who had headed the European direction since January of this year, when US President Donald Trump took office.
