Mediterranean coast of Turkey shaken by a powerful earthquake of magnitude 6
As reported by TUT.AZ, Turkey's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) recorded a serious seismic event in the southwest of the country.
According to the agency, the underground tremors occurred at 02:51 at night in the coastal zone of the Datça district in the Mediran region of Muğla province. The epicenter of the natural phenomenon was located 155 kilometers from the Datça district, and the earthquake focus was at a depth of 20.41 kilometers.
The governor of Muğla province, Idris Akbıyık, reassured the public through social media, stating that there were no destructions or casualties. "We continue to monitor the situation after the earthquake. So far, no reports of any negative consequences have been received," emphasized the head of the region.
