The European Union has planned 100 billion euros for Ukraine support

The European Union is preparing unprecedented financial support: 100 billion euros are planned to be allocated to Ukraine as part of the long-term budget for 2028-2034. The large-scale financing will be carried out through a special mechanism "Ukraine Facility".

This was reported by "RBC-Ukraine" publication with reference to the statement of the European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, made during the budget project presentation.

According to her, the previously created fund of 50 billion euros is gradually being depleted. "These funds are slowly but steadily decreasing. Therefore, we are proposing a new package - 100 billion euros to replenish the fund and continue supporting Ukraine's recovery," von der Leyen emphasized.

It is noted that the decision is not yet final. After the publication of the budget project, the European Parliament and the EU Council must voice their position. The approval of the final version of the budget is expected by the end of 2027.

The Ukraine Facility program is a financial instrument of the European Union created to help Ukraine in wartime conditions and in the post-war reconstruction process. For 2024-2027, it already provides for 50 billion euros.
