South Korea suffers from abnormal heat: more than 600 people hospitalized with heat strokes
Abnormal heat has hit South Korea a whole month earlier than usual, turning the country into a real inferno. According to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA), thermometer readings are daily rising to +35°C, covering the entire territory of the state with scorching heat.
Since the beginning of June, 633 people have required medical assistance due to the effects of high temperatures. The tragic consequences of the heat have proved fatal for five residents of the country.
Starting from June 28, medical facilities have been admitting about 50 patients daily with symptoms of heat exhaustion, sunstroke, and muscle cramps. Notably, the vast majority of victims — 77.4% — are men.
