"During private phone conversations with Zelensky and other G7 leaders this week, Trump tried to allay their fears, emphasizing that even if negotiations with Putin fail, he will continue military supplies to Ukraine, two sources familiar with the content of the conversations told Axios," the article states.

According to the sources, such guarantees from the American leader were seen as a step toward reducing anxiety among European partners who fear possible separate agreements between Washington and Moscow. According to Axios, there is particular concern about the possibility of decisions being made on the Ukrainian issue without Ukraine's participation.
