ABC News, citing informed sources, reports on Israel's possible preparation of a military operation against Iran, which may take place in the very near future.
According to sources, although a final decision has not yet been made, this scenario is being actively considered by the Israeli leadership against the backdrop of growing tensions in the Middle East region.
The sources do not disclose whether the US plans to directly participate in the potential military operation, but note the likelihood of Washington providing logistical support and intelligence data that could be used by Israel in conducting strikes.
Politico, also relying on its sources, informs about a meeting scheduled for this week between Israeli officials and US President's special envoy Steven Witkoff. According to the publication, the main topic of negotiations could be the discussion of a possible Israeli military operation.
Earlier on June 12, Reuters reported that the United States had begun a partial evacuation of its embassy in Iraq due to "increased security risks in the region." The agency also reports that US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth authorized the voluntary departure of family members of US military personnel from Middle Eastern countries, mainly from Bahrain and Kuwait.
