Man with weapon seizes McDonald"s in Ukraine

An incident occurred in a McDonald's restaurant in Cherkassy: an armed man seized the establishment

According to sources, on the afternoon of August 7, shots were fired in the fast food restaurant, after which an urgent evacuation of visitors was carried out. "The wounded man is the attacker. He injured himself. His wife was brought in to negotiate with him. We are investigating what his demands were."

It has been established that the offender was a local resident born in 1992 with the surname Boyarshinov. Sources in the Defense Forces report that he is a serviceman and fired shots from an unidentified weapon.

At the moment, the attacker has been hospitalized, sources in law enforcement agencies told Interfax-Ukraine.

"This person locked himself in the toilet and inflicted injuries on himself. He is now hospitalized," the agency's source clarified.

According to preliminary information, none of the visitors or restaurant staff were injured as a result of the incident.
