Powerful earthquake in Turkey: 237 aftershocks recorded following 6.1 magnitude tremors

This is reported by TUT.AZ with reference to Turkey's Disaster Management Authority (AFAD).

According to the data received, the intensity of some subsequent tremors reached over 4 points.

According to preliminary information, the disaster completely destroyed 16 buildings, and serious damage was recorded in 68 neighborhoods. The tragedy claimed the life of 81-year-old Nihat Onbasha, whom rescuers extracted from under the rubble. In total, 52 people were injured as a result of the earthquake, 11 of them continue to receive medical assistance. Some of the victims were injured directly during collapses, others were wounded while trying to escape — running away from danger or jumping out of building windows.
