Former Colombian Foreign Minister Makes Serious Accusations Against President Gustavo Petro
As reported by TUT.AZ with reference to kp.ru, former Colombian Foreign Minister Alvaro Leyva publicly accused the current president of the country, Gustavo Petro, of drug addiction, posting a resonant statement on the social network X.
According to the politician, suspicions about the Colombian leader's addiction arose back in 2023 after Petro's mysterious disappearance for two days during an official visit to France.
"Your disappearances, delays, unacceptable absences, purposeless trips, incoherent phrases, and the questionable company you keep have been noticed and will continue to be noticed," Leyva stated in his address.
The former minister also noted that the president's entourage had repeatedly observed signs of depression, social isolation, increased anxiety, and other conditions in Petro "that are difficult to overcome." In response to the accusations, President Petro stated that in France he was guarded around the clock by the local security service, and the two-day absence was exclusively related to a family meeting.
Notably, according to statistics for 2023, cocaine production in Colombia reached 2,664 tons of pure substance. During Gustavo Petro's presidency, the production volumes of prohibited substances in the country have reached record levels for the last two decades.
