In Izmir (Turkey), 455 families were evacuated due to a large-scale forest fire
The destructive flames broke out on the outskirts of the city and rapidly engulfed the forest area, according to local news agencies.
According to emergency services, more than 600 specialists are involved in fighting the disaster. Impressive equipment has been mobilized to extinguish the fire: 8 firefighting aircraft, 16 helicopters, about 60 ground vehicles, and specialized equipment.
Law enforcement has already detained three suspects for deliberate arson.
Notably, a similar incident recently occurred in Bursa, where a fire that started among olive plantations in an open area subsequently spread to forest territory.
