In Washington, a suspect has been detained in the cold-blooded murder of two Israeli embassy employees. The shocking crime occurred on the evening of May 21 near the Jewish Museum building, where an event of the American Jewish Committee was taking place.

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs has officially confirmed the detention of the shooter. According to information from the press secretary of the Israeli Embassy in the United States, Tal Naim, the diplomats were cold-bloodedly shot at close range.

"We fully trust American law enforcement agencies - both at the local and federal levels. We are confident that they will complete the investigation to its logical conclusion, identify all those involved, and ensure proper security for Israeli representatives and Jewish communities throughout the country," she said.

US Secretary of Homeland Security Kristy Noem responded to the tragedy with a message on the social network X: "Two Israeli embassy employees were killed last night near the Jewish Museum in Washington. We have launched an investigation and will ensure that those responsible are brought to justice."

The bloody drama unfolded in the very center of the American capital, in close proximity to federal institutions. Witnesses to the incident claim that before fleeing the scene, the attacker shouted the slogan "Freedom for Palestine!" The large-scale search operation involving police and the FBI was successful - the suspect was detained the next day. The identity of the alleged killer is still being kept secret.

American and Israeli authorities continue their joint investigation of the incident. Israeli officials have qualified the incident as an anti-Semitic terrorist act and called on the US for decisive action.
