An incredible story, more like the plot of a mystical film, occurred the other day in the Spanish city of Bunyola on the island of Mallorca.
As TUT.AZ reports, this is written about in the Mirror publication.
A local resident, whose identity has not been disclosed, was mistakenly declared dead by the medical staff of Juan March Hospital after she lost consciousness and stopped showing signs of life.
According to the information received, doctors undertook all possible resuscitation measures, but their attempts were unsuccessful. The woman was officially declared dead and transported to the morgue, where she remained for several hours while her relatives were busy processing the necessary burial documents.
Events took an unexpected turn, worthy of a thriller screenplay. The body of the "deceased" was delivered to the Son Valenti funeral home to prepare for the farewell ceremony. The staff of the establishment experienced a real shock when, upon examination, they found a pulse in the woman, and soon noticed movement in her fingers. The stunned personnel immediately called an ambulance, and the "resurrected" woman was urgently taken back to the medical facility.
Unfortunately, this amazing story does not have a happy ending. Despite intensive efforts by doctors, the woman eventually died. Doctors made several attempts to resuscitate the patient after re-hospitalization from the funeral home, but all of them proved unsuccessful. It is assumed that the cause of the misdiagnosis was the critical exhaustion of the patient's body, which made her pulse almost imperceptible.
Currently, the management of Juan March de Bunyola Hospital has initiated an internal investigation of the incident in order to clarify all the circumstances that led to the tragic error in pronouncing death.
