Britain lifted sanctions against key Syrian agencies and media
As reported by TUT.AZ, the UK government has officially removed a number of crucial Syrian state structures from the sanctions list. The corresponding decision has already been published on the official portal of the British Ministry of Finance.
Sanctions have been lifted from a range of strategic agencies: the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, the General Security Directorate, the Air Intelligence Forces, the Political Security Directorate, the National Security Bureau, and the Military Intelligence Directorate. Additionally, the list includes the Army Supply Bureau, the General Radio and Television Directorate, Al Watan newspaper, as well as Cham Press TV and Sama TV channels.
A total of 12 items were removed from the Syria blacklist. Recall that back in February, the United Kingdom's foreign policy department announced plans to partially lift restrictions following the change of power in the republic. At the same time, it was announced that sanctions would be eased in the energy, transport, and financial sectors, as well as measures to simplify the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Syrian population. Previously, restrictions were lifted on several Syrian banks, including the Central Bank, and oil sector companies.
