A high-profile case is unfolding in New Zealand: a 27-year-old woman is accused of child abuse after attempting to transport her two-year-old daughter in a suitcase. The Guardian reports.
The outrageous incident occurred 100 kilometers from Auckland. An attentive intercity bus driver during a scheduled stop noticed strange movements in one of the suitcases located in the luggage compartment. Upon opening the suspicious luggage, he was horrified to discover a little girl inside. Notably, the child's mother was calmly riding in the same bus cabin in a passenger seat.
According to the publication, the little girl suffered heat stroke and several abrasions. Police officers who arrived at the scene noted that tragedy was avoided solely due to the driver's vigilance. The injured girl was taken to the hospital, where she is currently under medical staff observation.
