What symptom indicates that you need to closely monitor your blood pressure?

Warning sign: morning headache may indicate dangerous blood pressure elevation

Medical experts are raising the alarm: regular headaches in the occipital region that occur immediately after waking up may be an important indicator of blood pressure abnormalities. This symptom should not be ignored, doctors warn.

Specialists note that such pain sensations often indicate hypertension – a persistent elevation of arterial blood pressure. Particular vigilance should be given to dull, pressing pains accompanied by additional symptoms: dizziness, nausea, ringing in the ears, or the appearance of "floaters" before the eyes.

The insidiousness of hypertension lies in the fact that in the initial stages, the disease can progress completely without symptoms. This is why medical professionals strongly recommend regular blood pressure monitoring for people over 40 years of age, as well as those who fall into risk groups: those leading sedentary lifestyles, those who are overweight, or those experiencing chronic stress.

Healthcare workers recommend measuring blood pressure at least once a week, even in the absence of any complaints. If consistently elevated readings are detected (above 140/90 mm Hg), it is necessary to immediately consult with a general practitioner for appropriate treatment.
