Geriatrician raises alarm: excess vitamin A threatens the health of elderly people
Well-known geriatrics specialist Christopher Norman has issued an important warning for people over 50 years old. As reported by El Español, excessive consumption of vitamin A can pose serious health risks for older generations.
According to Norman, many people after fifty begin to actively use various biological supplements due to the development of chronic diseases. However, the specialist draws attention to the fact that numerous scientific studies indicate: the amount of vitamin A necessary for the body can be obtained through a properly balanced diet.
"Vitamin A supplements should be taken with caution, as their excess can reduce bone density, cause liver damage and joint pain," the doctor emphasized. He also added that excessive intake of this vitamin increases the risk of fractures, as well as mobility and balance disorders, which is especially important for people over 50 years old.
