Renowned nutritionist Rhonda Patrick made a sensational statement about how the coffee brewing method can radically change its effect on the body. The expert shared her discoveries in a video that has already sparked heated discussion on the social network X, reports the Daily Mail.

According to Patrick, coffee contains beneficial polyphenols that reduce the likelihood of developing dementia and can prevent DNA damage leading to cancer. However, the beverage also contains fat-soluble diterpenes, which, on the contrary, increase the risk of oncological problems.

The nutritionist particularly emphasized the danger of brewing methods where hot water comes into contact with plastic elements, which leads to the formation of toxic compounds. She recommended paying attention to this when choosing a coffee machine and using capsule systems. In addition, Patrick noted that coffee prepared without filtration – for example, in a Turkish coffee pot or French press – has a significantly higher concentration of harmful substances.
