Trump stated that Israels operation against Iran did not come as a surprise to him

US President Donald Trump admitted that he was informed in advance about Israel's planned strikes on Iranian facilities. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

The American leader emphasized that the start of the Jewish state's military operation against the Islamic Republic did not surprise him.

On the night of June 13, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) officially announced the launch of Operation "Am KeLavi" ("Nation like a Lion"), aimed at damaging Iran's nuclear and missile programs. Shortly after, facilities in several settlements of the Islamic Republic were subjected to massive strikes. According to The New York Times, Israeli military attacked six military bases in the vicinity of Tehran. The state agency IRNA reported an explosion at a nuclear facility in the city of Natanz.

In response to these events, Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei addressed the country's citizens. He declared "freedom of action" for Iran's armed forces to respond to Israeli strikes.

Later, Trump commented on the situation. The US President expressed hope for the resumption of negotiations on Iran's nuclear program.
