Trump intends to "lure" European manufacturers to the US with high tariffs
As reported by TUT.AZ with reference to 1prime.ru, US President Donald Trump outlined his strategy for attracting European businesses to American territory during a meeting with journalists in the Oval Office of the White House.
"I'm not counting on a trade deal with Europe. Either companies move production to the US, or they will pay tariffs," Trump stated decisively.
According to the American leader, European manufacturers will be able to avoid high tariffs in only one way - by placing their factories on the territory of the United States.
"We already have almost 12 trillion dollars coming into the country's (budget). No president has had such figures - not in one year, not in two, not in three," Trump emphasized, demonstrating confidence in the success of his economic policy.
He also noted that the proposed policy of introducing fifty percent tariffs is not a confrontational measure, but rather creates a powerful economic incentive for returning industrial capacity and jobs to the American economy.
