Tragedy in China: Death Toll from Flooding in Inner Mongolia Reaches 12
According to Xinhua news agency, the number of tourists killed as a result of the devastating flood in the autonomous region of Inner Mongolia in northern China has increased to 12 people. The large-scale search and rescue operation involved more than 1,600 rescuers. The body of the last deceased tourist, who was swept away along with a vehicle by the powerful water flow, was discovered on Friday morning.
Recall that last week, authorities reported eight dead and four missing. The emergency occurred on August 16 at 10:00 PM Beijing time (5:00 PM Moscow time) at a tourist camping site in the Bayannur urban district.
