Powerful earthquake in southwestern Turkey: one dead and dozens injured
As reported by TUT.AZ, a destructive natural disaster struck the southwestern coast of Turkey, claiming one life and leaving dozens injured. Information about the tragic consequences of the natural cataclysm was officially confirmed by Turkey's Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya through his social media accounts.
As a result of the earthquake, one person died, and 69 residents suffered injuries of varying severity.
According to the minister, the victim of the natural disaster was a 14-year-old teenager who died from a panic attack caused by the earthquake. Among the injured, 46 people were taken to medical facilities. Notably, most injuries were not related to building collapses, but to panic-induced actions by people—falls while attempting to flee or jumps from heights in an effort to save themselves.
Ali Yerlikaya noted that no large-scale infrastructure destruction was recorded in the affected region. Currently, rescue services continue to work in the disaster zone, taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of the local population.
