Pakistan suspends all bilateral agreements with India

Pakistan sharply restricts ties with India: all bilateral agreements suspended, reports TUT.AZ with reference to TASS.

As part of the adopted measures, Pakistan is completely closing the strategically important "Wagah" checkpoint on the border with India. In addition, a ban has been imposed on the use of the country's airspace for Indian airlines and aircraft owned by Indian citizens.

These tough decisions were made at an emergency meeting of Pakistan's National Security Council, convened in response to New Delhi's actions following a terrorist attack in the Indian part of the disputed Jammu and Kashmir region.

"Pakistan must close the Wagah checkpoint with immediate effect. All cross-border transit from India along this route must be suspended without exceptions. Those who crossed the border with valid permits may return through this checkpoint, but no later than April 30. Pakistan's airspace will be closed with immediate effect for all Indian or Indian-operated airlines," the press release from the Pakistani Prime Minister's Secretariat stated following the Security Council meeting.
