India and Pakistan have agreed to reduce military tensions at the border. The armies of the two nuclear powers will take steps to de-escalate the conflict, a representative of the Indian armed forces announced.
"In addition to the mutual understanding reached by the military operations commanders of India and Pakistan on May 10, it was decided to continue confidence-building measures aimed at reducing the level of combat readiness," the statement says.
On May 12, Geo TV channel reported that Pakistan had completed the military operation "Bunyan-un-Marsus," which began in response to India's actions.
Pakistan launched a military operation against India on the night of May 10, stating that it was in response to strikes by New Delhi. Islamabad's targets included air bases in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir and missile facilities in Punjab. This is the largest escalation between the two nuclear powers in recent decades.
The escalation began on April 22, when civilians were attacked in the Pahalgam area in Indian-controlled Kashmir. India blamed Pakistani intelligence for this. More details are available in the article by "Gazeta.Ru".
