Telegram founder Pavel Durov warned about risks for technology companies in France, reports Ren TV.
"At the moment, any technology company in France can be declared a 'criminal group'", – Durov stated on his page on X (formerly Twitter).
According to the entrepreneur, a small group of officials is effectively nullifying years of efforts to attract investments to the country's technology sector.
Durov's comment came in response to a message from X's global government affairs team about the initiation of a criminal investigation by French authorities against the company. The investigation is related to alleged "algorithm manipulation and illegal use of user data." X representatives completely reject the accusations.
